We decided to hold Layla's birthday a few days late as we were all still in deep mourning over the passing of our beloved Isis. You can see that when we finally did celebrate that it was a grand affair! Siada worked hard on decorations, even teaching her younger sister how to hang things properly. Malik even gave a rousing chorus of Happy Birthday as they worked. (And how on earth can Layla be THREE already! She is the middle child, but I swear she will always be the baby of the bunch.) We opted for two gifts this year, one is the flopping fish that seems to be all over the internet and the other is a Kong Playhouse for kitties. The latter was by far the most successful gift. (Note from January 2021, they STILL play in this house, hiding and pouncing each other or dragging it around the room pretty much every day.)
Yes, we are still grieving, but the best remedy for sorrow, as we long ago learned, is the antics of crazy little Kittons.
