About
This blog is to cover the life and times of Siada al-Amira, a Savannah kitten who is both an extreme hellion and extreme cuddler. She came to us from SelectExotics, one of the oldest Savannah breeders in the country at a time when hearts were broken over the loss of her predecessor, Nimar NimarusRex. He was was my Champion and fought an incredible fight against Acromegaly (a pituitary tumor). He is the reason that we know our world needs a Savannah Cat in it! This blog is about his life and times too, because I have too many wonderful memories that yet need to be shared. Five months after bringing her home, we also opened our doors for her cousin Layla, and five months after that, Malik, another F1 Savannah boy, arrived to complete our trio.
There is plenty to learn about Savannah cats, especially those who are closely related to their serval ancestors, so I hope that maybe this blog will help those interested in taking a similar journey get a taste of the experience.

The earlier years of this blog also include dear Isis and Reeses, wonderful rescue girls that came from Rude Ranch (an incredible cat sanctuary in Maryland). They loved to cuddle each other and were super friendly with their people but they mostly try to avoid the spotted terrors with which they dwell. We lost Reeses at 17 in September 2019 and Isis at 18 years in September of 2020. They were beloved girls who will be much missed by all of us.
